How Planets Orbit

In our solar system planets orbit the Sun. However this process takes longer for some planets, this is because the further the planet is away from the Sun it has a bigger orbit. Below, is how many Earth days/ Earth years it takes for planets to do a full orbit of the Sun.

Mercury: 88 Earth days

Venus: 225 Earth days

Earth: 365 Earth days

Mars: 2 Earth years

Jupiter: 12 Earth years

Saturn: 29 Earth years

Uranus: 84 Earth years

Neptune: 165 Earth years

What is an Earth year and Earth day?

An Earth day is 24 hours and an earth year is 365 days. Scientists use these because human can understand and can comprehend how long Earth days and Earth years are, as us human use it in our daily life.

Do planets have an orbit path?

Yes, every planet in our solar system has an orbit path, this means that a planet orbits the sun in the exact same route every orbit. Below is a diagram on orbit routes.
